Mr. Herrmann successfully argued before New York's highest court for the proposition that an oral settlement agreement, of a dispute arising out of a written contract containing an arbitration clause, was subject to arbitration.


U.S.A. v. Golitschek, 808 F.2d 195 (2nd Cir., 1986)

Mr. Herrmann presented the "friend of the court" brief for the Republic of Austria in this criminal case involving issues of extraterritorial jurisdiction. The conviction was reversed.


Red Bull Associates v. Best Western International, Inc., 686 F.Supp. 447 (S.D.N.Y., 1988)

This matter involved the applicability of a forum selection clause to a civil rights case.

New York's Appellate Division sustained Mr. Herrmann's position in this contested estate accounting proceeding.

Mr. Herrmann successfully represented one of the defendants, an Austrian bank, in this letter of credit case.

In this contested estate accounting proceeding, New York's Appellate Division affirmed Mr. Herrmann's defense of the executor.

In this admiralty case, Mr. Herrmann successfully argued against New York jurisdiction, resulting in dismissal against his German client.

Mr. Herrrmann represented the Republic of Austria in this Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act case.

This matter involved the interpretation of sections of the United States/Canada Income Tax Treaty.

This New York employment case, was dismissed on jurisdictional grounds in favor of Mr. Herrmann´s clients, a Danish corporation and a California individual.
